is it obvious that it’s not the same person as always writing this? well i guess now it is. can’t believe i’ve been promoted like this after months of reliably telling our editor-in-chief i can’t contribute anything! anyway summer is starting even more than it already has been and we hope you’re ready for lots of events and festival type stuff: Kultursommer (we only added a sliver of the completely free events they’re offering and will continue to offer until the start of August) and Impulstanz (also until early August, with us only reporting on the party/concert programme – we’d love to include dance in our listings as well but you know, time and energy) in particular, Pohoda for anyone willing to travel a bit to reach a cute festival with a surprisingly solid line-up in Slovakia (you can meet the editorial team there! and perhaps our single merch item will be there too). wishing everyone free access to cool rooms, opportunities to go swimming and the energy for political action in spite of the heat! ❤

and if you have the resources, you can chip in to collectively cover fines for the folks who protested for fair and just reporting on Palestine at ORF Tirol some weeks ago!

Pohoda has lineups of a quality unseen for festivals of this size in AT (even if this year’s is not our favourite, but at worst that means there’s some time for taking breaks). Be sure to come prepared for a wide temperature range and little shade, but otherwise this festival is a good order of magnitude above a FRQ or Nova concerning amenities, the vibe is mostly really friendly and relaxed, too.
